I love the BBC

I love the BBC website, it contains so much information on varied topics - daily news, entertainment, technolgy - each divided into the different continents of the world. Theres no category for Ireland so I always check out whats going on in England and each day you learn something new and sick.

Like today for example, Im after learning about Baby P.

The 17-month-old died in August last year after suffering a catalogue of injuries, including a broken back. The baby also had eight fractured ribs, bruises and an injury which caused him to swallow one of his teeth. After his death, puncture marks and an X-shaped tear were found on the baby’s head. Miss Robson told the court that the marks had been consistent with dog bites, and said a dog’s teeth may have also been scraped over the baby’s head.

And yesterday I had seen an article with the world “Shannon” in it but failed to click on it but was informed about this Shannon by Síomha yesterday. A girl named Shannon had been reported missing back in February by her mother, on the 999 call she sounded perfectly calm announcing she had seen her child since dropping her off to school in the morning and this information answers why:

Shannon’s mother, Karen Matthews, and Michael Donovan are on trial over the nine-year-old’s disappearance in West Yorkshire in February this year. The disappearance of Shannon, now 10, became one of the highest-profile missing person inquiries ever seen in the UK. Shannon had been drugged and tethered in the flat where she was found in March by her Parents where she has kept hostage for a 24 day period.

The UK really has some fucked up cases, this one I find hilarious:

A dentist found guilty of urinating in a surgery sink and other unhygienic practices has started a High Court appeal to save his career. He was also found guilty of using dental instruments to clean his ears and fingernails.

Maybe I like to make a comparsion between the UK and Ireland and take pleasure in knowing that the UK has more interesting news reports.
